Store-bought granola is often packed with unhealthy fats, sugars, processed ingredients and preservatives, but you can make your own unprocessed, low sugar, preservative-free granola for a fraction of the price.
INGREDIENTS
300g Porridge Oats
100g Pecans
100g Skin on Almonds
5 tbsp Mokhado Macadamia Oil
5 tbsp Maple Syrup
75g Pumpkin Seeds
50g Desiccated Coconut
2 x packs 5thSeason Pineapple Bites
2 x packs 5thSeason Fruit Salad Bites
METHOD
Preheat oven to 160⁰c (fan)
Roughly chop the almonds and pecans using a sharp knife (this can also be done by pulsing in a food processor if you have one)
Mix the Mokhado macadamia oil with the maple syrup
Mix all the other ingredients, except the desiccated coconuts and 5thSeason fruit in a large bowl and add the maple syrup and macadamia oil. Mix until well combined
Spread the mix evenly out onto a lined baking tray with a sheet of parchment paper
Put into the oven for 45 minutes or until golden brown, stirring every 5-7 minutes to stop it from burning. Remove the tray from oven and leave to cool
When the granola has fully cooled, mix in the desiccated coconut and 5thSeason freeze-dried fruit
Store in an air tight container for up to 1 month. Enjoy!
